September Meeting 2025 The Hurlingham Club

The autumn meeting of the London Venue Operators Network (LVON) took place at the magnificent Hurlingham Club, offering attendees a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate, and exchange insights on the key issues shaping the venue industry today.

The day began with networking over a coffee, as colleagues from across London’s diverse venue landscape caught up and also welcomed new participants to the group. This was followed by a welcome to Hurlingham keynote speech and then a couple of focused discussion sessions exploring two highly relevant topics:

1. Operating a venue under current financial pressures

Attendees shared practical approaches to balancing rising operational costs with the need to maintain service standards and visitor experience.

2. The pending impact of Martyn’s Law

The group examined how the forthcoming legislation will affect venue operations, planning, and staff training, as well as how venues can best prepare for compliance and implementation.

Another highlight of the session was an exclusive tour of The Hurlingham Club, showcasing its outstanding facilities, heritage, and operational excellence.

The tour provided inspiration and ideas for fellow operators, reinforcing the importance of best practice and continuous improvement in venue management.

The event concluded with further informal networking at Aragon House, allowing attendees to strengthen professional connections and share updates from across the sector.

Overall, it was an insightful and productive day, underlining the value of LVON as a forum for open discussion, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among London’s venue professionals.
